There is no doubt the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce is the voice of business in this
community.
The chamber does things small business can't do for itself. It works on providing a
healthy economy in Overland Park. Ongoing economic development efforts help businesses grow. Government relations efforts put the chamber on the
side of business for taxes and expenses.
Business Advocacy
The Government Relations Department provides the business community a voice in government and continues to be cited by members as a top priority year after
year. We strive to monitor and promote the interests of the chamber membership at all levels:
- Federal - The chamber works with our U.S. congressmen and senators.
- State - One of three chambers statewide with a full-time lobbyist during the legislative
session.
- Local - The chamber monitors and advocates business issues in:
- City of Overland Park
- Kansas City Metropolitan Area
- Johnson County
- Blue Valley, Shawnee Mission & Olathe School Districts
- Johnson County Community College
- Water District No. 1 of Johnson County
