RHODES claimed a 2nd place award among 400
attendees at Leica Geosystem’s worldwide user conference in San
Ramon, Ca. BHC RHODES won in the Building/Heritage category with an
entry of the deliverable they had provided to one of their area
customers for a local University building project. The entry was
chosen for having the most intuitive and user friendly
representation of the use of high definition scanning. BHC RHODES’
experts used a color map to represent units of measure of
construction tolerances, a method known as an Isopach. Judges
claimed BHC RHODES’ creative use of Isopach in high-definition
scanning was unique in the manner in which the data was delivered to
the customer for the face of a building. Most Isocpach methods in
high-definition scanning are used on horizontal ground surface
projects, such as the new $36 million dollar soccer complex in
Overland Park, where BHC RHODES used this same method. BHC RHODES’
high-definition scanning was highlighted on NBC Action News and footage

County Community College (JCCC) will retain its seat on
the board of directors of the prestigious League for Innovation in
the Community College.
“The League is the only major international organization
specifically committed to improving community colleges through
innovation, experimentation, and institutional

proud to be among them.”
The League for Innovation’s board of directors consists of the
chief executive officers of 19 member institutions. League board
members serve for as long as they remain the chief executive
officer. When a college CEO changes, the college must go through a
reaffirmation process to retain its place on the board. For its
reaffirmation, JCCC prepared a self-study document focusing on its
innovative practices and programs and submitted it to the League in
March 2008. League representatives then visited the college in
September to speak with the trustees and learn more about the
college. The reaffirmation was given November 6. JCCC has been a

SKC Electric, a

offerings and continuously expanding national presence. The Faith
Technologies, Inc., name was created in 2002 by Roland (Rollie)
Stephenson, CEO of Faith Technologies, Inc.; Mike Jansen, Executive
Vice President of SKC Electric in
Kansas City
; and Rick Schinke, President of Town & Country Electric in
Wisconsin
and
Indiana
. Since then, each company has been operating under their own names
in different markets. However, as the company continues to grow
across the country, employees and executives believe that it’s
crucial to work under the same name to be properly identified as a
leading electrical contractor in the country. The name transition in
Kansas City
is the first in a series of name transitions at all locations. Along
with the name change came another important change for SKC Electric:
their recent relocation to a new office building at
11086 Strang Line Rd
in
Lenexa
. The relocation is a result of increased growth; from 162 to over
250 employees in the past five years as well as a steady increase in
revenue; specifically, a 29% increase from 2005 to 2006 and a 20%
increase in 2007 over 2006. The 45,000 square -foot facility, over
100% larger than the former building, is now the home office for all
commercial and industrial contracting work in the

Prescription
Solutions,
a leading pharmacy benefits management company, recently donated
more than $46,000 worth of diabetic supplies to two community
indigent clinics in
Kansas City
and
Topeka
. Executives from the company’s
Overland Park
mail service facility hand-delivered several pallets of more than 50
different product labels of diabetic supplies, including diabetic
strips, monitoring systems and lancing devices. Marian Clinic
of
Topeka
and Duchesne Clinic of Kansas City, two safety-net clinics serving
low-income and uninsured families, received the supplies.
Prescription Solutions received the shipment of diabetic supplies
late last year before system and formulary adjustments in the
organization prompted alternative packaging and distribution. Executives
collectively decided to take these unopened, in-date supplies and
donate them to those who may not have easy access to diabetic
equipment.
